I teach in an urban school in Virginia. Over 80% of our students are on free or reduced price lunch. The students I work with lack opportunities and exposure to high quality learning experiences outside of school. Many of our students live in neighborhoods plagued with violence. Our school is a safe place where a love for learning is fostered. Kids learn that an education is the key to a successful future.
