My Students need Chromebooks in the Science classroom! With these new Chromebooks we will be able to watch videos during our station labs, research new information for projects, collaborate on multimedia presentations, connect with other scientists all over the world, collect and analyze data as a class, and that is just the beginning. Giving my students the opportunity to obtain these 21st century skills will be crucial to their success and engagement in many STEM fields. My students thrive in an environment where technology is used to gain and share new knowledge. As a growing school our resources are becoming tighter and tighter each year, and bringing technology into the classroom is becoming more and more difficult. My goal is to eventually build a classroom set of Chromebooks that will be at my students' disposal during any Science class they have. For this goal to be reached we also need a safe place to store and charge our Chromebooks. Having this safe and reliable storage method will not only make it so our new classroom tools are fully charged and ready to go, but also ensures that they have a safe and secure place to live when not in use. Providing my students with as much exposure as possible to working with this technology, in an academic setting, will also help them feel more comfortable as they take part in state tests, which are now all computer based. With Chromebooks in the classroom the learning opportunities are practically endless! My students deserve to have the exposure and develop these crucial skills that they will then carry for the rest of their lives.
