Hydration is one of the most important components of any athlete's development. As the licensed athletic trainer for more of 325 student-athletes, I need to ensure they are staying hydrated throughout practice or competition. The success of a team is the result of all the things that we go through behind the scenes. Currently, we use individual water bottles to hydrate our teams. These bottles don't hold enough fluids, get hot quickly and break easily. This makes it extremely hard for us to have enough water bottles for each student-athlete. Not only we don't have the numbers but this method is very time consuming. These 50 gallon hydration stations will allow us to provide our student-athletes with cold water throughout the entire practice or competition. Making hydration more efficient will allow our teams to focus on perfecting their craft so they can excel on the playing field. By eliminating the concern of hydration in this hot South Florida weather, I can dedicate 100% of my time to provide the medical care my student-athletes deserve.
