If students enjoy the activities they will take more from the lesson and learn from each other. Fifth grade math needs a makeover! The supplies requested in this project will help us kick off our fifth grade year with everything we need for a successful start. The folders and sheet protectors will become resource folders for every student that they will use as tools throughout the entire school year. The whiteboards and erasers will be used daily by students to work out their thinking and try different strategies. Students this year will work on Interactive Math Notebooks and the art supplies will allow them to incorporate creativity and art into the math classroom. In math this year we will use a lot of manipulatives and centers to incorporate hands on experiences for our students to make concrete connections with the math. Doesn't this sound like a math class you would want to be in?
