Listening skills are an important part of communication skills. It is important for kindergartners to become active listeners at a young age. My students have the chance to use the listening center as a part of small group reading instruction. During this time students develop phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. In my classroom we practice speaking and listening strategies daily. Students who are confident in listening and speaking, will become better readers, writers, and workers. This listening center is perfect because the wireless headphones allow my students to use the center with ease. You can help us by donating to our fund, so our kindergarten class can have a wonderful listening center to use!
