Occasionally working remotely allows me to provide support to my students during times when I would otherwise be unavailable to meet with them. This extra level of support is beneficial for students with atypical work schedules, often due to working jobs, preferences to do schoolwork in evenings and during weekends, and additional responsibilities at home When I work remotely, I am limited by the size of my district-provided laptop as a means of coordinating engaging and helpful virtual learning opportunities. With these new materials, I will be able to plan and carry out more engaging virtual learning opportunities, regardless of the time of day when students seek out help and support. This is particularly important for COVID-19 related learning, as many of my high school students share technological resources with multiple siblings and/or parents working from home during the day, and do not get their own opportunity to use shared resources until later in the evening.
