My students hate reading. I want them to see people of color establish building blocks for the promotion of self awareness through reading. I believe when they see someone just like themselves creating stories that they can relate to they will strive for excellence in that field as well. Sometimes all anyone needs is guidance and if reading can bridge a gap in their lives then I’m all for it. Building a community of readers I think will make our ancestry extremely proud and it will help students pay it forward.

About my class
