Our students live in a very rural area. Within our whole county, there is only one stoplight! I teach 245 students in grades K- 5. They are a sweet bunch of students. In this small county, everyone knows each other. Students here enjoy the outdoors and all that nature has to offer. Several of our students love fishing, hunting, and swimming in the river. At our small elementary school, we are trying to teach them 21st century skills so they will be prepared for college and the workplace. We think of the students as our own when they are in our classrooms and library! Recent state budget cuts have eliminated some of our much-needed school funding. We are all working hard to teach our students all they need to be successful. I love reading to the students that come to my library and watching them learn to love books! It's such a joy watching them become readers!
