My students come from a community that lacks a lot of resources. I also teach at a school that lacks a lot of resources. I believe that my students, however, do not need a lot of resources in order to succeed. They need love and compassion. They need someone to teach them how to respect and speak appropriately. They need life skills, such as organization and teamwork. They need a document camera to learn both visually and orally in order to see math in a new light.
