In Science, the third graders at our school learn about helping the Earth by reducing, reusing and recycling. We encourage the school to recycle their paper and reuse blank sides of printed paper whenever possible. Every week a class takes turns collecting the recycling for the school. In April for Earth Day, we perform an Earth Day Program integrating aspects of Language Arts, Science, Art, and Math with songs, poems written by students, and student art that helps teach our school about why the earth is important and how we can help make it better. This year we thought we would create a video with pictures and video clips taken with the camera showing ways students at our school can help the earth. We also would use the white boards in our classroom as a way to show our learning instead of copied worksheets on paper.
