Students will explore the perspective of characters in books with diversity and inclusion. In our current climate of social unrest, I have to make the students feel as comfortable as possible. These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom I strive to create each and every day. During the fifth grade school year, my students are introduced to reading a chapter book together. The students discuss the literature and answer high-order thinking questions related to our standards. Students also complete projects at the end of all books. Project-based learning is a key factor in this classroom environment.
