My students are curious and energetic 10- and 11-year-olds who have a range of experiences. Several characteristics all students share include: 1. They are eligible for special education supports and services under the Individual with Disabilities Education Act. The majority have learning disabilities which means their reading, writing and math skills are typically two to three years below their expected grade level; 2. They live and learn in a community that is considered economically disadvantaged; 3. They are motivated to engage in learning activities that utilize technology; and 4. They want to be recognized as successful students.
