One of the most important things I can do to help my students learn is to connect with them and help them connect with one another. The best way I have found to do this is through carefully planned morning activities and intentional use of our indoor recess time. Many of my students do not have experience with my favorite types of board games and I would love to give them more opportunities to learn and have fun. Games teach us to respect one another, to deal with disappointment, and to develop strategy and perseverance. All of these are valuable skills for fourth graders that I have seen them carry outside of recess and morning meeting. Adding to my collection of games and activities would really help increase student engagement. Students are always excited to try something new. Through my lunch groups, I could introduce these games and then turn them over to students during recess so that I can play too. Donating to this project would go a long way to strengthening a community of learners. Thank you for considering.
