My school is largely populated with students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. They are bright, capable students who want to not only make a difference in their own lives but within the broader community. They are located at the epicenter of technology but do not have the resources to access all of the opportunity that San Francisco can provide. They are eager students who are in need of readily available technology in the classroom. As students with emotional disabilities, my students require a novel strategies for learning but individually and collaboratively. Having worked in various schools (both technology rich and under-served), I have the perspective of knowing that my students will need every opportunity available to them in order to be best prepared for their post-secondary academic goals and careers.
