A strong, solid start sets the tone for the entire school year. There are too many students at my school and in my classroom who simply cannot afford even the most basic of classroom necessities. I am choosing to focus on items that will help strengthen my students' foundation in writing, organization, and accessing technology. We will write almost daily by hand. As the large majority of my students are English learners, writing is an essential part of learning the technical parts of the language-- including word use, grammar, proper punctuation, and sentence building--that will help my students develop their abilities to express ideas clearly and confidently. Students will also spend a lot of time using technology for research and building reading comprehension skills using our in-class technology. However, our Chromebook laptops often require earbuds for proper use. I want to assure that students are able to access 100% of the technology by having earbuds available to all my students. Thank you for your generous donation. I assure you that it will help many children have a more meaningful year in the classroom.
