Our school houses students from a very diverse community. We tend to get athletes that do not have the resources or economic status that our surrounding schools have. Therefore, many of them are very appreciative, hard working, and are eager to train and develop more in track and field. We have athletes aged from 15-18, of which the team is rebuilding from a loss of many great coaches and program changes. For the first time in many years, the girls' team was able to qualify and medal in the state championships and one became a state champion. The boys' team was able to do the same but only two became medalists and one a state champion. This team is very tenacious and ready to start a new season but with high hopes, having more resources would only encourage them even more.
