I teach ninth grade literature, junior level American literature, senior level College Prep and Creative Writing. My goal is to promote a love of reading and literature. Many kids enter high school hating reading and never completing a book. They don't believe that a book can capture their interest and change their life. Two years ago we lost our Librarian and our opportunity to have new and interesting reads decreased dramatically. This will not deter my goals to bring literature to my students. I am seeking funding for books for my class library to encourage high needs students and challenge students to change their minds about reading.
