Children need to feel seen and comfortable in their classroom. Our students are in need of a substantial amount of love and compassion from their teachers, a comfortable seating area will allow me to comfort my children when they are feeling big feelings. This project will provide an area to store other items that can comfort my students including, sensory stones, stories, and breathing strategies. We are also working to bring more diversity and awareness of diversity through play. This project will help children gain an opportunity to discuss and play with various foods from around the world, sparking cultural awareness, empathy, and other connections.

About my class
