The project will serve 21 first grade students; consisting of twelve girls and nine boys. The majority of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Academic achievement will be improved through providing an opportunity to students that allows for more frequent use of exploration of educational software and/or apps to promote practice in all curriculum areas. We are living in a technology-rich time. The need for proficient technology skills is ever increasing. Children are accustomed to playing computer games; however, most do not understand the full potential of a computer. Providing an educational product that is already intriguing to students will encourage learning by captivating their interests which will produce focused outcomes. Exposure to educational software starting in first grade will improve students’ performance on standardized tests which now require a portions of the test to be completed on a computer.
