I teach in a Title One school to a very diverse population. Many of my students come from very low income households and school is their safe place. I encourage socialization among my students to build their listening and speaking skills that many of them lack. They come from very large households where their voices aren't always heard. Much of the time in my classroom I encourage students to talk, share ideas, collaborate, debate, and think critically within their groups; however, there are times where students need to focus and demonstrate what they've learned independently so that I can assess them and better meet their individual needs. These privacy partitions will be used during testing situations to most accurately assess my students without the temptation to look onto a neighbor's paper.
