These Prism Microscopes will provide students with the chance to explore their findings while still in nature. Unlike traditional microscopes, which use electricity to backlight the specimen, prisms redirect and focus natural light to the same purpose. This will allow students to explore our natural waterways located next to our school, the flora and fauna of the wetlands and forests as well as prepared specimens. Not only will these microscopes be used by my Outdoor Pursuit students, but our school is also offering an environmental science elective for the first time this year with a focus on stream biology. These microscopes will be used by multiple teachers and will impact hundreds of student's educational experiences this year and for years to come.
