Our incoming 8th graders are the role models for the 7th and 6th graders and deserve the opportunity to present themselves in their best light. Last year, we performed many labs and activities where lab coats were necessary, but not provided. In order to remain safe, solely the teacher performed many experiments because we did not have the proper safety attire. My students cannot afford to miss out on educational, hands on labs. These lab coats will allow my students to be safe, but that is just the beginning. Wearing these coats will also bring a blanket of pride and seriousness to what it means to truly be a scientist. Last year I borrowed a class set for a day and my student’s face lit up with inspiration, they felt special. This is what children should feel everyday. My students will value these coats, treat them with respect, and learn what it means to be a brilliant scientist every time they wear one. My students are going to high school in one short year, and need to optimize their last year in middle school learning and experiencing as much as possible. Lab coats will enhance their learning experience. In these coats, they will feel like the world is taking their education seriously and will have the power to change their future. They need people to believe in them, so please believe in their future and donate.
