In our Science classroom, students keep an Interactive notebook that becomes their treasure. All of their data, video and lecture notes, and creative hands-on diagrams/sketches are kept in these notebooks. Due to COVID-19, each student needs their own materials or ways to disinfect them--journal, colored pencils, and glue sticks--which make a plain journal interactive. This journal documents their learning of the NVACSS/NGSS and our support of the NVACS for ELA and mathematics. It includes their learning guide, evidence of student learning, and a way for students to track and showcase their learning. The materials that we create can be used as students advance through their educational career.
