The math games, puzzles and hands-on manipulatives will be a great learning experience for my students to learn new math concepts in our classroom. My tactile and visual learners will benefit greatly by being able to grasp concepts more readily. Studies have shown that students with English as their second language have made the greatest gains when manipulatives were a significant part of their classroom learning. Most of my students have English as their second language. Manipulatives will allow my students to use hands-on tools to grasp and deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts. From my personal experience all students can benefit from the use of manipulatives. Manipulatives have a positive effect on student’s academic achievements. Student are able to build a concrete understanding of the material by visualizing seeing the concept.
