I teach in an at-risk, Title 1 school in West Dallas. My students are passionate, excited and eager to become better students. Unfortunately they aren't exposed to opportunities or resources that allow them to explore their passions. I serve a struggling school with minimal funding put towards classroom books and resources, therefore it is my job to ensure my students receive a quality education despite the setbacks that exist within the school. My students desire to succeed in school and their grit never ceases to amaze me. Regardless of obstacles seen in their home lives, my students show up bright-eyed and ready to learn every morning.
