I teach at a K-8 urban charter school that serves kids from undeserved backgrounds. My students are hip, fun, and lively individuals. They enjoy being active and learning about the world around them. Did I also mention that they are super intelligent? When it's game time, a.k.a. lesson time, they all know how to focus and put on their thinking caps. It is amazing to see how their brains work so quickly pick up new concepts. I feel like I have the luckiest job in the world by getting to work with the brightest of young minds. While my kids have the brain power to become amazing students, they still need the tools to help get them there. The materials requested will provide engaging, hands-on learning opportunities. These materials will allow them to learn in multiple ways and ways that are best for them.
