I have the pleasure of working in a diverse, tight-knit community of teachers and students. Our school works hard to create a culture of respect, responsibility, and positivity. Teachers are constantly looking for new ways to improve practice and engage learners. Each year, I have about 24-30 students in my classroom with a wide range of interests, abilities, and personalities. This includes a handful of English language learners (whom represent about 50 countries and 20 languages). I usually have about 4-5 English language learners in my classroom who speak about 3 different languages. Being located so close to Washington DC and a university, our population is somewhat transient. I am so thankful to the generous donations I've received from Donor's Choose. I've been able to make learning more enjoyable and accessible without "breaking the bank" and I am very grateful.
