These calculators will replace our current ones which are sadly dying after many years of use. We've cleared memory and replaced the batteries in them all, but they are ceasing to function even with new batteries due to the amount of usage they've seen over 10 years. My kids have reached the point in math where calculators are used to facilitate the algebraic processes used in solving various problems. It would be helpful for the learners if their tools actually worked. Being stuck in learning because of tool failure is an unnecessary frustration. If my students are going to be stuck, I want it to be because of the challenge of the material and expanding their thinking processes.
