The use of disposable cameras will assist students in documenting the realities they face everyday in their underserved communities. The use of cameras will also assist students who struggle to put into writing sensitive information. It is often said that a picture is worth a thousand words. For my students, I hope to help them to identify and vocalize areas in their communities that deserve transformation. These pictures will become the start of a process for students to capture in the moment "what is" and then develope a concreate plan for creating "what can be" with hard work, sacrifice and a commitment to creating stronger communities. We will document, create pictorials, gather data and interview stakeholders to create a community plan that is born from the ground up. Students will be not only at the forefront but more importantly, they will own this activity.
