Our students are placed in a specialized program called Life Skills, where my class implements an individualized educational plan designed by a team of administrators, teachers, parents and therapists. I am reaching out to you to help me expand their interest in other books by Dr. Seuss. I work with a group of 9 vivacious, intellectually and developmentally disabled students that are experiencing academic and social challenges due to their low reading skills. Our students are 2-4 grade levels behind in academics and require specialized instruction. Collectively, we fell in love with Dr. Seuss and his Seussian style of illustrating. These books will support my teaching in 3 ways: inspire colorful reader responses, introduce students to rhyming, and be exposed to a variety of books from one author.
