My name is Jana Brown and I have been teaching in Osawatomie, Kansas for 21 years. Osawatomie is my hometown and I am proud to be a teacher here. Like all schools, we have been hit with major budget cuts and classroom supplies are limited. I teach science for our four 5th grade classes and often do not have the materials I need. With the new science standards, there are many items that will be necessary to be able to successfully implement the curriculum. We are a Title 1 school with a high percentage of low socioeconomic students. I want to instill a love of science in my students. Hands on projects and experiments are exciting and help students develop a stronger understanding of science concepts. Please help my students by donating to buy science supplies for my classroom. No donation is too small, every dollar gets us closer to our goal!
