I am currently teaching at a Title 1 school in the heart of Santa Ana, California. Every child at school receives free breakfast and lunch daily. Currently, the majority of my students are at below grade level, lack the basic foundational math skills and motivation. I hope that through DonorsChoose, I am able to provide the basic necessities that my students need in order for them to thrive and excel. Many students dislike math and find math very challenging. By the end of the year, I hope to change their mindset and build a love for math. Through this process I hope my students discover that math is essential in their daily lives and that learning math is manageable as long as they put in the effort, practice, and persevere.
