My students live in the same neighborhood that I live in, so I know it is difficult for them to experience many things. It is a low socioeconomic area. My students really appreciate the experience they are given in the classroom with technology. They are a diverse group and very excitable. I have always been able to allow my students to experience different ways of life, traveling, and just some stuff for fun using DVD's. At this time, I am in a portable and do not have access to a computer with a DVD player. My class would greatly benefit from seeing many of the videos I have accumulated over the years. I am unable to show them any of these due to the fact that I do not have a DVD player. I feel that they are losing the benefit of such an opportunity.
