This will enable my STEM students (I call them "engineers") to manipulate motors, computers, gears and other items to learn about engineering. The young engineers will be programming the EV3 brick (the name for the robot computer), designing the robot, building the robot, revising the design, and completing their goal. The engineers will learn how different sensors (light sensors, color sensors, ultrasound sensors for distance, sound sensor and tachometer found as part of the motor) work and how to use the information from the sensors to control the robot. The students will be working in small groups to achieve particular goals, like moving the robot to within 10 cm of the wall, following a line and lifting objects. They will make lot of mistakes, learning every step and rotation along the way.
