In Urban Education, unfortunatly, writing tends to fall to the wayside. Many teachers focus strongly on math and reading in hopes to close the educational gap. Due to these focuses many students go throughout their entire elementary educational career without learning and properly using the writing process. These folders not only outline the writing process for the students but allow them to watch their work 'travel' through the process in an organized fashion. The number of students who have never published a writing peace by the third grade is unfathomable. These folders will allow my students to watch their work grow and them to become 'published' authors in Ms. Rein's class!
