An increasing number of educators are calling for high standards and challenging learning activities. A presentation made by one of the speakers I attended before the school year started entitled "Mentoring the Net Generation" really challenged me as a teacher. We identify our students as "technology natives" practicing and using technology both in and out of school. I now have to design my teaching strategies on how to maximize students knowledge in technology and to reach these new age students to empower them to grow intellectually and emotionally. The use of a MacBook in the classroom can enrich teaching and learning, engaging students in their core curriculum and making learning a lot of fun. The use of Internet resources will make discussions interactive and engaging. Math students can also perform problem-solving using virtual activities and navigate websites with the teacher's supervision that are sometimes difficult without the use of technology in the classroom.
