My students come from low income households and a vast majority are English Language Learners who need help to build background knowledge in order for them to be successful in school. Every year I get a new group of students who come in facing a variety of challenges. For many, school is by far the best part of their day and the only consist thing in their life. Despite these obstacles, they work hard to be successful.
