My school is a low-income Title One school located in an area of the South, stricken by poverty. The students are not accustomed to the "finer" things and in fact, most of our equipment is out-dated and dismal. My children are eager learners but do not have the resources or parental support at home that many children have. Any simple change, like a rug, can make a major difference in the way the students feel about themselves and their learning environment.
