The students at my school have been without a reading teacher and a regular classroom education because of Covid for several years. Their reading scores have dropped as well as their interest in reading. I hope to change that. I believe the main reason students do not like reading is that they haven't found a genre of book they like. Through this project, I hope to expose my students to one of my favorite book series, Harry Potter. The characters are relatable and the elements of magical fiction make it a perfect resource for teaching the required skills.
