I teach at a school that ranks at the top of the list in our district for the highest percentage of students living at or below the poverty line. With 87 languages spoken among our students, it is safe to say that I am working with many children of the world. When I was hired at this school, I was worried as I did not know what to expect with this type of population. I thought that they would be difficult to teach and test me on a daily basis. Little did I know, it turned out to be a blessing that I was given this opportunity to work with such a friendly and inviting population. Every day I leave school with a smile on my face. I get to teach students who WANT to be there and WANT to be actively engaged in my PE class.
