My kids are the greatest kids in the world! Truly! Their love of reading shines through when they get a book in their hands with characters they can connect with. The students in my school are at least 84% low income, many of their parents work more than one job, just to provide them with the basics of every day life. Each child in my school is required to read Doll Bones this summer. Unfortunately, many families may not be able to afford the cost of the book and the public library will not be able to meet the demands of providing a copy for each child. This novel will hook my kids in and leave them excited to talk about it when they come back to school in August. It will fill them with such joy to be able to leave school for the summer with their very own, new copy of a book. Please consider funding this project.
