My school is a 100% Title one school. Each year my class consists of 60-70% English Language Learning students. We have an average of ten languages spoken in our building. My students come from all types of families. From military to homeless, or struggling to make it. Many of my students do not have access to technology at home which can put them at a disadvantage. My school is an amazing place for our families to be. We provide many programs for students like after school clubs, family nights, parent meetings, and provide interpreters for parents who do not speak English. The parents are always welcome in our building and I am always inviting them to activities in our classroom. We are also fortunate enough to have many different programs in our building that add even more diversity. We have a head start preschool program, hard of hearing preschool and elementary classrooms, and several structured learning classes that focus on students with autism.
