The tubs are needed to house the activity and manipulatives that the students will need for each center. The tubs will create a more organized atmosphere for both the teacher and students. The large square tables will promote collaboration among students as they work at centers and workshops while providing each student enough space for their own work area. The square tables will also allow me to move the shelves that hold their materials closer so as to make them more accessible to students while they work without them having to walk across the room. This should help minimize transition times and help maximize instruction time. It will also open the room up and give a more spacious feeling while providing space to create areas without clutter.
