There are several children in Whiting Elementary School that are identified as exhibiting social skills deficits. Each identified student is matched up with a student of a similar age. Fourth and Fifth grade mentors are also selected to help guide the younger children into appropriate social interactions and encourage correct play skills. Student mentors are selected based on teacher recommendation as well as club need.
