As a 10th and 11th grade English teacher in a STEMM magnet at a public high school, I am impressed daily by my students' determination to learn and thrive in educational settings, in my classroom and beyond. My students at Venice High School represent a diverse population whose common ethos of tolerance allows them to interact with peers from different backgrounds on a daily basis. In my classroom, I encourage my students to tackle an issue from all angles, and to conduct research before forming opinions. It is with your help that they will be able to keep pace with their peers with regards to the latest educational technology. They deserve to have the same rewarding educational experiences as those in districts with more resources to go around. I will make that happen for them no matter what!
