The tables in my classroom were made for smaller children and many of my students could barely fit their chairs under them. We need table space where everyone will feel comfortable while learning. The shape of these tables will also encourage group work and foster communication. The current tables are at different heights and the tops have been cut and carved after years of use, creating difficulty for students to work together on an activity. Some students struggle to fit under the tables. I need to fit 19 bodies in an area that only comfortably fits 16. We tried to be creative with placement, but the shapes of the tables cause a lot of wasted space. Receiving these four tables will end my students' worries about fitting into their seat, create ample writing space, and increase their ability to effectively communicate with each other and work in small groups.
