I teach Chemistry courses at an urban, inner city performing arts high school. Everyday, I strive to teach not only the required curriculum but the real-world connections and data needed to fully explain these science subjects to artistically inclined students. My goal is not just to have my students excel in the classroom but to develop into knowledgeable citizens ready to make an influential impact on the world. Textbooks in chemistry courses are grossly outdated. In order for students to completely understand complex, cutting edge information involving these topics, they need access to real-time data and research via the world wide web, etc.
