Sixth grade science has an updated curriculum that heavily incorporates hands-on projects. Currently, we have a set of outdated textbooks that do not work with our curriculum. I have one classroom set of 35. Our teachers are creative about creating lesson plans to achieve proficiency of current state standards. I want to give opportunities to my students to connect our lessons to their future by using computers and the Internet interwoven within each lesson plan. How can you teach the future without the tools? I am requesting one Chrome book at this time and would like to add another periodically until we have a classroom set. I have approximately 100 students in a day. Each chance we have to share research and discoveries using technology advances the learning opportunities for these students. My students are focused and excited with each new lesson that connects them to the real world and technology.
