The students I have in front of me each year are filled with wonder, curiosity, and excitement. Unfortunately, many of my students grow up with the disadvantage of not being able to see and experience the world around them. Either they come from a home without the means to make this happen or they are brand new to the country and haven't had the opportunity to explore the world around them. I would love to be able to give my students as close to the real things as possible by having a photo printer, colored ink, and paper on hand and available for our use. This way we can look up pictures and/or snap our own pictures in our classroom or on field trips and bring it all to life with the touch of a button. Being able to have these photos on hand allows the kids to learn through them by labeling, writing, or talking about them. I am hopeful that I can create an environment of thinkers and learners by having a way for kids to see things in their real light...even if it is just a photograph. This project is also a way for me to take pictures of my students and create books, labels and even send home pictures to their proud parents. Please support my project and by helping my Kindergarteners and English Language Learners experience the world in color!
