Students are individuals, so why should learning look the same for everyone? Incorporating stand up desks in my classroom would give my students freedom of movement and access to individualized learning choices. AlphaBetter stand up desks are designed to give students the chance to move while they work. Studies have shown that moving may help increase academic abilities and facilitate learning. In addition, the swinging footrest bar can enable students to keep moving while redirecting fidgeting behavior, expending energy, and helping students focus on classroom activities. Standing while learning keeps students engaged while counteracting the negative effects on students’ health from sitting for long periods of time.
